First of all you need to learn what freedom of speech actually is, it means the government cannot arrest you, abuse you, or inflict any numbers of horrors on you because of what you say. Of course there are other rules, but I won’t get in to that now.

Freedom of speech is not freedom from criticism. People have the right to be and say homophobic, racist, sexist, and other messed up things. Others have the right to call them homophobic, misogynistic, racist, and many other names they wish to. 

That is freedom of speech, you have the right to say almost anything you want, and others have the right to say almost anything right back at you.
